I had three market specific teams of clinical care advocates who provided utilization review, benefit authorization, information and referrals for health plan members. The overall team consisted of a Call Center for incoming calls, a Concurrent Review staff for management of inpatient episodes of care and Field Care Advocates who worked directly with members to connect to needed resources to help them remain stable in their community.
